Abstract
The term"transgressive"is frequently seen in Lu Xun’s evaluations of current political affairs.However,in the preface to The Field of Life and Death,he associated the trait of"transgressive"with the female identity of the author,Xiao Hong.During the decade in Shanghai,being sensitive to the various disorders in the modern urban space,essays became the tool for Lu Xun,to conduct social criticism and cultural critique,and the shaping of character images was an important part.The transgressive female images represented by"the modern lady","the female ghost"and"the maidservant of foreigners",enriching the female image gallery created by Lu Xun,while the arrangements of the characters’endings also carried the author’s reflection on the social hierarchical structure relationship.They are important bases for exploring Lu Xun’s view on women and,in the colonial context of China in the 1920s and 1930s,manifested the"allegorical nature in the third-world culture"as mentioned by Jameson.关键词
