Abstract
General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized at the 2024 National Education Conference the need to accelerate the construction of a strong education country,and the strategy for building a strong education country has reached a new height.From the experience and consensus at our country and abroad,reading ability is a fundamental skill for lifelong development and has also become a core competitiveness of talents in building a strong education country.How to give full respect and independent space to reading courses in the school curriculum system is a topic of the times.As an independent school-based curriculum,school reading courses have their own independent value and practical significance in compensating for the shortcomings of Chinese reading teaching hours,the deficiencies in textbook selection,and the limitations of teaching methods.At the implementation level,several suggestions are proposed to establish the goals of school-based reading courses,select appropriate reading texts to design different course types,actively use discussion methods and diverse teaching methods,etc.,in order to promote the systematic construction of reading courses,promote the development of students’reading literacy,enhance the overall national quality,and lay a solid foundation for building a strong education country.关键词
