摘要

Abstract

[Purposes]Retaining walls for short unloading platforms have been widely used in high fill slopes and have good economic efficiency.However,traditional earth pressure calculation models do not consider the stress reduction effect of vertical additional load transmitting downward according to the diffusion angle,resulting in deviation in calculation results.This paper aims to improve the theory of earth pressure calculation and provide theoretical support for the design of retaining walls for short unloading platforms.[Methods]Theoretical deduction was conducted,and the calculation formula for the resultant force of earth pressure was derived based on Rankine's earth pressure principle,without considering the viscosity of the backfill.The value of the diffusion angle was discussed based on the Flamant formula,and the analytical calculation model for earth pressure was established.The influence of the aspect ratio and step ratio of the short unloading platform on the resultant force of earth pressure was analyzed,and the width and placement of the short unloading platform were optimized.[Findings]When earth pressure is calculated,the diffusion effect needs to be considered.It is reasonable to arrange the additional lateral earth pressure in a rectangular manner,and the recommended diffusion angle is 45°.As the aspect ratio of the short unloading platform λ increases,the active earth pressure gradually decreases,and the optimal aspect ratio is λs=1-ξ.An analytical solution is obtained for the step ratio ξmin corresponding to the minimum earth pressure Ea,min.When λ ranges from 0.20 to 0.25,the corresponding step ratio is 0.62,which is close to the golden ratio.The earth pressure decreases to 56%-60%of that without a short unloading platform.[Conclusions]The research results have improved the analytical calculation model for earth pressure on retaining walls for short unloading platforms,optimized the width and placement of short unloading platforms,and provided guidance for the design of retaining walls for short unloading platforms.It also has important reference value for the support of difficult and complex slopes in high fill and deep foundation pits.
