湖南沅水流域传统村落时空演变及驱动因素研究
Spatial-temporal evolution and driving factors of traditional villages in Yuanshui River Basin of Hunan Province

Abstract
[Purposes]Taking the 395 traditional villages in the state protection list in the Yuanshui River Basin of Hunan Province as the research objects,this study analyzed the spatial distribution and temporal evolution patterns of traditional villages from a historical development perspective.It explored the main driving factors that influenced the formation and evolution of traditional villages,aiming to provide support for the sustainable development of traditional villages.[Methods]Based on field investigations and the search for historical literature,basic data,such as the geographical attributes and founding years of traditional villages in the Yuanshui River Basin of Hunan Province,were compiled.A geographic information system(GIS)database was constructed,and the methods,such as nearest neighbor index analysis,kernel density analysis,and standard deviation ellipses,were used to study the spatio-temporal distribution patterns and evolution characteristics of traditional villages in the Yuanshui River Basin of Hunan Province.[Findings]From the spatial perspective,the traditional villages in the Yuanshui River Basin of Hunan Province exhibit the characteristic of"small clustering and scattered living".They are distributed along the mainstream and tributaries of the Yuanshui River,with a dominant concentration type,and they are unevenly distributed.Traditional villages were formed in the central part of the basin(Huaihua City)in the Song and Yuan Dynasties and in the northwestern part of the basin(Tujia-Miao Autonomous Prefecture of Xiangxi)in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.From the temporal perspective,the traditional villages in the Yuanshui River Basin of Hunan Province show a linear growth trend in each historical period,and the concentration center of traditional villages presents a migration trend from the southeast of the basin to the northwest of the basin.The evolution trajectory of the concentration center presents a feature of migrating from the southeastern part of the basin to the northwestern part of the basin,and after being defined in the Ming and Qing Dynasties,it evolves into a diffusion trend of"the eastern part of the basin and the western part of the basin".In terms of village location,villages are mostly distributed in the hilly and mountainous areas of the upper and middle reaches of the river basin.Most of them are located on flat and gentle slopes with an inclination of 0°-20°,concentrated in the upper and middle reaches of the river basin,and they are clustered along the tributaries of the Qushui River,Wushui River,and Youshui River.In terms of driving factors,the formation and evolution of traditional villages in the Yuanshui River Basin of Hunan Province are influenced by both natural and human factors.Quantitative analysis indicates that the overall driving effect of natural factors is greater than that of human factors.The driving forces in descending order are elevation,slope,water system,distance to the nearest roads,distance to the city center,cities'gross domestic product,and slope aspect.[Conclusions]Elevation,slope,and water systems are the three main driving factors determining the location of traditional villages,and they are the primary influencing factors in the spatial distribution pattern of traditional villages in the Yuanshui River Basin of Hunan Province.Meanwhile,transportation networks,social and economic conditions,local culture,and immigration policies play a guiding role in the migration and expansion of traditional villages,making them the main influencing factors in the spatio-temporal evolution of traditional villages in this region.关键词
