Abstract
Using space syntax theory,this paper conducted an in-depth exploration on the renewal of the historical and cultural blocks in the ancient Taiyuan County.Through quantitative analysis on the spatial form of the blocks,the spatial syntax analysis showed that the blocks were dominated by a cross street as the main axis,with a small global depth and good accessibility.The integration analysis further indicated that the cross street and its surrounding streets had a high degree of integration and were the key areas for pedestrian congregation.This spatial structure not only facilitated tourist visits,but also promoted the inheritance of historical culture.However,despite of the high intelligibility of the blocks,there was still room for optimization in local spaces.To this end,this paper proposed the targeted renewal strategies,including repairing the spatial texture of the blocks,increasing connections with the key nodes such as Jinniu Lake Park,opening up dead-end roads,and adding branch alleys to the specific areas.These measures aimed to enhance the overall vitality and intelligibility of the blocks,allowing the tourists to better perceive the overall spatial form of the blocks and enhancing their experience.关键词
