Abstract

Reducing elbows are used to connect pipes of different diameters and arranged vertically,and the study of their stress field distribution laws can provide inspectors with the maximum stress critical areas so as to prevent dangerous accidents from occurring.Based on ABAQUS finite element software,a model is established for reducing elbows used in steam pipelines,using an indirect thermal-solid coupling method to analyze the stress field distribution under high temperature and pressure,and to explore the impact of structural parameters on pipeline stress.The results show that the thermal stress is mainly distributed in the inner side of the outer arc at the large diameter end,and the stress on the inner and outer walls are higher in the thickness direction,while the stress in the middle is lower;Internal pressure causes the overall stress distribution to be symmetric along the neutral side,and the stresses are mainly distributed in the inner side of the inner arc at the large diameter end and the outer side of the inner arc at the middle end;With the increase of heating rate,the thermal stress gradually increases and the distribution of total stress changes;Hammer height and reducer ratio affect the distribution of total stress,and wall thickness affects the magnitude of total stress.The research results provide a reference for the design and testing of reducing elbows.
