Effect of continuous quality improvement in perioperative nursing management combined with cardiac rehabilitation exercise program on postoperative recovery in patients undergoing heart valve replacement

Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of continuous quality improvement in perioperative nursing management com-bined with a cardiac rehabilitation exercise program on postoperative recovery in patients undergoing heart valve replace-ment.Methods A total of 124 patients who underwent heart valve replacement surgery and were admitted to our hospital from July 2022 to July 2023 were selected as study subjects.They were randomly allocated by coin toss to a control group and a study group,with 62 patients each.The control group received continuous quality improvement in perioperative nurs-ing management,while the study group additionally received a cardiac rehabilitation exercise program.Postoperative recov-ery outcomes were compared between the two groups.Results Upon discharge,patients in the study group showed signifi-cantly higher left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF),peak oxygen uptake(VO2peak),6-minute walk distance(6MWD),scores on the MOS 36-Item Short-Form Health Survey(SF-36),and transfer and walking function scores on the Mini-Modi-fied Functional Independence Measure(mmFIM)compared to the control group.The left ventricular end-diastolic diameter(LVEDD)in the study group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).The total incidence of com-plications was also significantly lower in the study group compared to the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The com-bination of continuous quality improvement in perioperative nursing management and a cardiac rehabilitation exercise pro-gram accelerated postoperative recovery and improved cardiac function in patients undergoing heart valve replacement surger-y.关键词
