Development of a health education program for pediatric liver transplant care management based on the health action process approach theory

Abstract
Objective To develop a health education program for pediatric liver transplant care management centered on "Faith-Plan-Self-Control" based on the Health Action Process Approach(HAPA)theory and qualitative research findings,ai-ming for widespread application among primary family caregivers of pediatric liver transplant recipients.Methods Using purposive sampling,12 primary family caregivers of pediatric liver transplant recipients from October 2022 to October 2023 were enrolled as interviewees.Semi-structured interviews were conducted one-week post-admission(pre-transplantation).Interview data were synthesized,analyzed,and iteratively refined to identify caregivers'learning needs and preferred knowl-edge acquisition pathways during the perioperative period,informing the development of the health education program.Re-sults The HAPA-based health education program comprises three primary indicators:1)pre-intervention health education,2)perioperative health education,and 3)monitoring and follow-up,further divided into nine secondary indicators aligned with behavioral stages in the HAPA framework.Conclusion The developed program aligns with the HAPA theoretical framework and demonstrates significance,necessity,and scientific validity,holding promise for clinical application and pro-motion.关键词
