Decision-making experiences of lymphoma patients regarding central venous catheter selection:a qualitative study
摘要
Abstract
Objective To explore the psychological experiences, influencing factors, and needs of lymphoma patients during decision-making for central venous catheter(CVC)placement, aiming to provide more patient-centered guidance and sup-port for clinical nursing practices. Methods This qualitative study conducted in-depth interviews with 15 newly diagnosed lymphoma patients to investigate their lived experiences during CVC selection. Results Three main themes emerged:1)co-existence of negative emotions and proactive coping pre-decision,2)coexistence of physician-led and shared decision-making during decision-making,and 3)peer support.Four sub-themes were identified:negative emotions, proactive coping,phy-sician-led decision-making,and shared decision-making.Conclusion The decision-making experience of lymphoma patients regarding CVC selection is a complex and dynamic process. To enhance patients'quality of life and treatment experience, healthcare systems should strengthen patient education, optimize clinician-patient communication, improve social support networks, and timely adjust and optimize the decision-making process,so as to raise the degree of satisfaction and promote treatment outcomes.关键词
