Abstract
Objective This study aimed to explore the impact of multimodal education interventions on the rate of standard-ized dietary forgetting in patients undergoing colonoscopy.Methods A total of 304 patients undergoing colonoscopy at our hospital between June and December 2023 were randomly assigned to an observation group and a control group,Each group had 152 patients.The observation group received a multimodal education intervention,while the control group received a traditional education intervention.The control group received routine verbal or written guidance.In addition to the routine guidance,patients in the observation group were provided with multimodal education interventions.The relevant informa-tion was communicated to the patients in a visual and textual manner through the placement or hanging of prominent remind-er cards.The Boston Bowel Preparation Scale(BBPS)was used as the primary evaluation tool.Dietary forgetting rate,pa-tient satisfaction,and incidence of incorrect diet were the secondary evaluation indicators.Results The observation group had significantly higher scores in the transverse colon subscale and total score of the BBPS than the control group(P<0.05).No significant difference was found in patient satisfaction between the two groups(P>0.05).The observation group had a lower incidence of incorrect diet than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Dietary preparation is crucial for a successful colonoscopy.Multimodal education interventions can effectively enhance patients'adherence to dietary guid-ance,reducing complications from forgetting and alleviating difficulties during the examination.关键词
