Abstract
The wild population of the red panda(Ailurus fulgens)has declined sharply due to habitat destruction, illegal hunting and breeding difficulties. In order to effectively protect this species, artificial breeding and management has become one of the key measures. This article firstly introduced the ecological distribution and dietary characteristics of the red panda, analyzed its high adaptability to bamboo plants and the specialized evolution of its digestive system, focused on the feed supply of red pandas under artificial rearing conditions, including the nutritional composition of the bamboo leaf-based diet structure and other supplementary foods, explored the necessity of body weight, body temperature monitoring and health examination for the health management of red pandas, and investigated the effects of the design of the rearing environment on red pandas'growth and behaviors, showing that the temperature and humidity control, air quality, noise management and the design of the activity space all together could play a key role in the red pandas'adaptability and reproduction. Moreover,an optimized feeding plan was suggested to provide a reference for feeding and reproduction management of Ailurus fulgens.关键词
