摘要

Abstract

[Objective]Illicium verumis an important economic tree species in southern China.Guangxi is the largest producing area,and the planting area accounts for more than 85%of the total area in the country.This study aimed to explore the effects of conventional management practices(fertilization,and removal of understory vegetation and litter)on stoichiometric characteristics of carbon(C),nitrogen(N)and phosphorus(P)in leaves and twigs of I.verum,and soil to provide a theoretical basis for management of I.verumforest.[Method]The I.verumforest under continu-ous conventional management practice was designated as the treatment plot,while the long aban-doned plot served as control.Using a paired experimental design,three sample plots of 20 m×20 m were set up in each I.verumforest spaced at 10 m.Mature leaves and twigs in each sample plot were collected,and the top 0-20 cm of soil was collected according to the five-point sampling method.Soil organic carbon(SOC),soil total N,plant total C and plant total N contents were determined by elemental analyzer;soil and plant total P contents were determined using molybdenum-antimony antiphotometric method;soil ammonium nitrogen(NH4+-N)and nitrate nitrogen(NO3--N)contents were determined by flow analyzer;and available P content in soil was determined by molybdenum blue colorimetric method.Differences in C,N,and P contents and their stoichiometric ratios in leaves,twigs,and soil in different treatments were comparatively analyzed.[Result]Compared to the control,conventional management practices significantly reduced the SOC content,total N con-tent,carbon/nitrogen ratio(C/N),carbon/phosphorus ratio(C/P)and carbon/phosphorus ratio(N/P)by 33.2%,26.3%,9.4%,34.8%and 28.0%,respectively,and increased the soil NH4+-N,NO3--N,and available P contents by 47.9%,17.4%and 43.5%respectively,but had no significant effect on the total P content in soil.Conventional management practices significantly increased the total N content in I.verumleaves and twigs by 22.5%and 21.2%,respectively,and decreased the C/N of I.verumleaves and twigs by 15.6%and 16.3%,respectively,but no significant changes were observed in other plant parameters.Correlation analysis showed that the total N contents in I.verum leaves and twigs were positively correlated with the soil NH4+-N and NO3--N contents,but negatively correlated with the SOC and soil total N contents.[Conclusion]Although conventional management practices coulod effectively enhance soil available nutrients and plant N utilization efficiency in I.verumforest,it may lead to soil fertility decline in the long term due to reduced organic matter inputs.
