摘要
Abstract
The cross-border operations of multinational corporations(MNCs)have significantly contributed to the evolution of Area Studies in the West.Country and Regional Studies(CRS)is now an independent academic discipline in China.China's reform and opening-up policy has stimulated international cooperation of state-owned energy enterprises(SOEs),simultaneously driving the creation and growth of their affiliated think tanks. These think tanks are uniquely positioned to advance CRS scholarship through their demand-driven focus, access to local information and data, and talent practice.Particularly in developing China's indigenous CRS knowledge systems, they excel at guiding knowledge through demand-side and in promoting the academic and systematic development of foreign-related knowledge. However, the limitations of corporate objectives, the scope of research topics, knowledge channels, the lack of basic knowledge, and the influence of commercial interests and corporate positions all pose challenges for the think tanks of SOEs in engaging in the construction of CRS.As they participate in this process, these think tanks need to act as a bridge between demand and supply, enhance talent development, and focus on knowledge production and dissemination.关键词
