摘要

Abstract

The paper investigated the protective effect of glabridin on ARPE-19 cells induced by sodium iodate(NaIO3).MTT assay was used to detect the cell viability and cytotoxicity of ARPE-19 cells.Flow cytometry was used to detect the reactive oxygen species(ROS)level.Western Blot was used to detect the expression of Nrf2 and HO-1 proteins.As a result,glabridin can significantly inhibit the ROS production induced by NaIO3 and reduce the apoptosis of ARPE-19.The potential mechanism was mainly that the increse of the expression of Nrf2 and HO-1 proteins protected RPE from ROS production and apoptosis induced by NaIO3.Glabridin can reduce the apoptosis of ARPE-19 cells,which may be related to the Nrf2/HO-1 signaling pathway.
