摘要

Abstract

In 2023,the fleet of LNG heavy-duty trucks in China was close to 700,000 vehicles, with a projection of reaching 1.4 million by 2030.The transportation gas use dominated by LNG heavy-duty trucks will become a new driving force for the growth of natural gas consumption in China.Currently,China's LNG refueling stations exhibit such several characteristics as the refueling volume growth rate exceeds the growth rate of natural gas consumption, the refueling volume is unevenly distributed across regions, there are significant differences in the sales volume of individual stations, the gas supply sources are diversified, the scale is continuously expanding, the shutdown ratio is relatively high, the road layout is complex, the site distribution is uneven across regions, the investment entities are diverse, the sales prices are market-oriented,and there are large regional differences in gross profit margins.Looking ahead, there is a need for further diversification of refueling station operating models and innovation in marketing strategies and whether refueling stations can achieve scaled development and become a new driving force for natural gas consumption still depends on addressing a series of issues and challenges including heavy-duty truck fuel replacement, business operation models, the economic viability of LNG heavy-duty trucks and refueling stations, technical standards and approval processes for refueling stations, and the issue of equal rights for oil, gas, and electricity.
