摘要

Abstract

Objective To investigate the application of distal radial artery puncture in the anatomical snuffbox for arterial blood gas(ABG)sampling.Methods A total of 120 inpatients requiring ABG analysis from January 2023 to July 2023 were randomly divided into a control group(n=60)with conventional radial artery puncture and an observation group(n=60)with distal radial artery puncture in the anatomical snuffbox.The baseline compression time of 3 minutes for observing he-mostasis outcomes was set,and the Visual Analog Scale(VAS)for pain intensity was applied.Outcomes,including pre-procedural compliance rate,first-attempt success rate,skin/vascular injury rate,compression duration,and pain scores were compared between groups.Results There were no significant differences between the two groups in baseline demo-graphic characteristics,including gender and age.Significant differences were observed between the two groups in pre-proce-dural compliance rate,pain scores,and compression duration(P<0.05),whereas no significant differences were found in first-attempt success rate and skin/vascular injury rate(P>0.05).Conclusion Compared with conventional radial artery cannulation,the anatomical snuffbox approach may enhance patients'compliance,reduce skin/vascular injury rates,shorten compression duration,and alleviate pain intensity.
