A global perspective on the risk of oral cancer related to HPV infection through oral sex

摘要
Abstract
Oral cancer,the 16th most common globally,has a 5-year survival rate of just 40%-50%.Major risk factors in-clude smoking,drinking,and oral sex.This study analyzed oral cancer epidemiological data from multiple literature data-bases and found changing risk factor trends:declines in tobacco and alcohol use,but increases in oral sex,a key HPV trans-mission route,leading to higher HPV-related oral cancer risks.The review also discusses global challenges in eradicating HPV-related oral cancer,such as insufficient screening/diagnostic tools,low public awareness of oral HPV infection,and weak global research capacity.Enhanced public health initiatives,awareness among the public and clinicians,and strength-ened research capacity are urgently needed to address this public health threat.关键词
