Abstract
Objective This review summarizes the development and application of assessment tools for nursing students'ca-reer choice willingness both in China and internationally.Methods A systematic search was conducted in databases such as PubMed,Web of Science,Embase,China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),China Biology Medicine disc(CBM),and Wanfang Data,covering publications from database inception to July 20,2024.Results A total of 38 articles were included,comprising 16 studies on independently developed tools and 22 on combined assessment tools.Early inde-pendent tools focused on areas including HIV/AIDS nursing,dementia nursing,and mental health nursing,later expanding to areas such as COVID-19 patient nursing,Internet plus nursing,palliative nursing,and geriatric nursing.These tools are characterized by their simplicity and strong specificity but lack comprehensiveness.Combined tools have evolved from asses-sing dementia nursing,general nursing,and HIV/AIDS nursing to encompassing palliative and geriatric nursing,offering more comprehensive evaluations.However,they are often complex to operate,time-consuming,and their cross-cultural ap-plicability remains to be validated.Conclusion Nursing students'career choice willingness assessment tools have evolved in response to societal health needs,promoting the development of nursing education.Future research should focus on multidi-mensional design,diverse sample validation,and cross-cultural adaptation to promote the comprehensiveness and applica-bility of these assessment tools.关键词
