Survey on the psychological and sleep conditions of medical staff in the fever clinic of a Grade A tertiary hospital

Abstract
Objective To investigate the psychological health and sleep conditions of healthcare workers in the fever clinic of our hospital.Methods Medical staff working in the fever clinic of our hospital from June to December 2022 were selected as the study participants.An online questionnaire was distributed using the WeChat mini-program Wenjuanxing,which includ-ed personal information and self-assessment scales such as the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS),Profile of Mood States(POMS),Fatigue Scale(FS-14),and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI).Data were statistically analyzed using GraphPad Prism 8 and SPSS 21 software.Results The SAS scores of our hospital's fever medical staff were higher than the national norm,and the proportion of FS-14 scores≥3 points exceeded 50%.Two weeks of work in the fever clinic did not significantly increase the SAS,SDS,or POMS scores(P>0.05).After participating in the fever clinic,the PSQI scores of PSQI and the proportion of sleep disorders(PSQI>7 points)were significantly higher than before participation(P<0.05).Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that staff with intermediate or higher professional titles and nurses were more likely to have sleep disorders.Conclusion The psychological anxiety and fatigue levels of our hospital's fever clinic staff have increased,and overall sleep quality has declined.Measures should be taken to improve the physical and mental health of medical staff.关键词
