Experience of professor LIU Jian in treating ankylosing spondylitis with damp-heat syndrome by strengthening the spleen and nourishing the kidney,clearing heat and dredging collaterals

Abstract
This article summarizes professor LIU Jian's clinical experience in treating damp-heat syndrome of ankylosing spondylitis through the therapeutic principles of strengthening the spleen and nourishing the kidney,clearing heat and dredging collaterals.He posits that the damp-heat syndrome in ankylosing spondylitis is typically characterized by a pattern of root deficiency with superficial excess,where spleen-kidney deficiency constitutes the fundamental pathogenesis,while damp-heat invasion represents the secondary pathogenic factor.The therapeutic strategy prioritizes spleen-kidney reinforcement as the principal approach,complemented by heat-clearing and damp-draining methods to eliminate pathogenic factors.Additionally,blood-activating and collateral-unblocking techniques are consistently applied throughout the treatment course,demonstrating favorable clinical outcomes.A representative case study is appended to validate the therapeutic efficacy.关键词
