Variable load characterization of a parallel system with multiple space Brayton generators

Abstract
The space thermoelectric conversion program based on the closed Brayton cycle can meet the high-power power demand of spacecraft,and usually the form of multiple Brayton generators connected in parallel with the same reactor heat source was adopted to further improve the power density.Based on the three-dimensional simulation results of the core components,modular dynamic modeling of the main components of the cycle system was completed with the help of AMESim software,and a complete four-engine parallel system of Brayton power generation equipment was constructed,including the reactor and four parallel Brayton cycle loops.Through dynamic simulation of typical variable load regulation processes such as heat source temperature,system pressure,and rotational speed changes of rotating parts,the basic characteristics of variable loads of this type of space thermoelectric conversion multiple-unit parallel system were obtained.The variable load regulation by changing the temperature or pressure parameter affects the system generating power positively and the pressure negatively under the rated operating condition,and the pressure reduction is too large to lead to the over-temperature operation of the system components.If the spatial angular momentum were regulated by the speed difference of the rotating parts in different circuits,the speed difference would need to be controlled within a certain range in order to prevent rotor overrun and pressurized gas turbines from wheezing.关键词
