Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of ultrasound-guided polidocanol sclerotherapy in the treatment of thyroid cysts.Methods Fifty patients with thyroid cysts treated at our hospital from January 2021 to December 2023 were selected and randomly allocated to a control group and an observation group,with 25 cases in each group.The control group received ultrasound-guided anhydrous ethanol sclerotherapy,while the observation group received ultrasound-guided polido-canol sclerotherapy.Treatment efficacy,cyst volume,thyroid function,and the incidence of adverse reactions were com-pared between the two groups.Results There was no statistically significant difference in overall treatment efficacy between the two groups(P>0.05).At 3 and 6 months after treatment,the cyst volume in both groups was significantly reduced compared to pre-treatment levels(P<0.05),with no statistically significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).At 6 months post-treatment,thyroid function indicators in both groups showed no significant change compared to pre-treatment levels,and no significant difference was observed between the groups(P>0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions was significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Ultrasound-guided polidocanol sclerotherapy was effective in reducing cyst volume in patients with thyroid cysts and did not impair thy-roid function,indicating a high safety profile.关键词
