Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of phacoemulsification and implantation of AT LISA tri839 trifocal intraocular lens(IOL)on quality of life in cataract patients.Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the data of 59 patients with cataracts and high myopia who underwent phacoemulsification cataract resection combined with intra-ocular lens implantation in our hospital from January 2020 to June 2022.According to the treatment method,the patients were divided into an 839M/MP group(n=28 cases)and a 509M/MP group(n=31 cases).The 839MP group received cata-ract phacoemulsification and implantation of AT LISA tri839 multifocal intraocular lens,while the 509M/MP group re-ceived cataract phacoemulsification and implantation of AT LISA 509M/MP intraocular lens.The uncorrected distance vi-sual acuity(UDVA)and best corrected visual acuity(BCVA)measured at 5 meters in two groups of patients,uncorrected intermediate visual acuity(UIVA)at 60～80 cm,and uncorrected near visual acuity(UNVA)at 40 or 33 cm were ob-served.The visual acuity test was conducted using an international standard visual acuity chart under sufficient lighting conditions.Secondary outcomes include higher-order aberration(HOA),Strehl ratio(SR),cataract grade 10(MTF10),and cataract grade 30(MTF30).Results At the 1st day after the surgery,the UDVA 839M group was significantly better than the 509M/MP group(P<0.05),while there was no statistical significance as compared to the BCVA group(P>0.05),The UIVA and UNVA of the 839MP group were higher than those of the 509M/MP group(P<0.05).At 1 week,1 month,and 3 months after the surgery,the UDVA,BCVA,UIVA,and UNVA of patients in the 839MP group were higher than those in the 509M/MP group(P<0.05).At 3 months after the surgery,the VF-14 score of patients in the 509M/MP group was significantly higher than that in the 839MP group(2.2±0.9)points vs.(0.82±0.63)points,Z=4.072,P<0.001).There was no statistically significant difference(P>0.05)between the two groups of patients before the surgery in terms of SR INTER,SR TOTAL,MTF10 INTER,MTF TOTAL,MTF30 INTER,and MTF30 TOTAL.At 3 months after the surgery,the SR(INTER,TOTAL),MTF10(INTER,TOTAL),and MTF30(INTER,TOTAL)of patients in the 839MP group were higher than those in the 509M/MP group(P<0.05).The defocus curve at 3 months post the surgery showed a bimodal pattern in the 839MP group,with the far and near focus at 5 m and 40 cm,and the defocus curve in the 509M/MP group only showed a peak shape with the focus at 5 m.The preoperative HOA of the 839MP group and the 509M/MP group were(2.74±3.82)and(3.08±4.11),respectively,with no statistically significant difference(P=0.608).At 3 months after the surgery,the HOA,Hui difference,ball difference,and clover difference in the 839MP group were lower than those in the 509M/MP group(P<0.05).During the 3 month follow-up,neither group of patients experienced any seri-ous postoperative complications.Conclusions In patients with high myopia combined with cataract,both 839MP and 509M/MP could improve postoperative visual acuity,but 839MP had superior distant,moderate and near visual acuity and could significantly improve the postoperative quality of life.关键词
