Analytical Solution of Matrix Suction for Landfill Cover Layer with Hydro-Mechanical Effect

Abstract
Rainwater infiltration changes the size and distribution of matrix suction in landfill cover layer.To investigate the evolution characteristics of matric suction in the cover layer with hydraulic coupling effects,a water transport model for a landfill cover layer under rainfall infiltration is established based on the Fredlund's unsaturated soil constitutive model.The Gardner soil-water characteristic function and Fourier integral transform are used to obtain a analytical solution of the transient matric suction during rainwater infiltration with hydro-mechanical effect.Based on this analytical solution,a comparative anal-ysis was conducted on the differences in the evolution characteristics of matric suction in the cover layer with and without hydro-mechanical effects.It was found that the reduction rate and change amplitude of matric suction in the cover layer with hydro-mechanical effects were significantly lower than those with-out hydro-mechanical effects.关键词
