To explore the application of visual perception principles in the cover design of literary books and their role in enhancing design quality and reading experience.By integrating Gestalt psychology and visual perception theory,this paper analyzes the formation and laws of visual perception principles,as well as their application in various elements of cover design.Visual perception principles can endow cover designs with enhanced visual impacts and heightened reader engagement through means such as clarifying hierarchical relationships and establishing a sense of order.The appropriate application of visual perception principles offers a robust theoretical foundation for book design practices.It serves to elevate the scientific rigor,standardization,artistry,and aesthetic appeal of literary book cover designs.
