摘要
Abstract
Objective To investigate the effects of metacognitive therapy on metacognitive levels and fear of cancer recurrence in esophageal cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Methods A total of 100 esophageal cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy who were admitted to a hospital in Pingdingshan City from January 2022 to December 2023 were selected by convenience sampling. They were grouped according to their admission order(n=50 in each group). The control group was given routine care, whereas the observation group was additionally given metacognitive therapy.Metacognitive levels, fear of cancer recurrence, anxiety levels and depression levels were compared between the two groups before intervention and at the end of the 2nd and 4th intervention cycles. Results Significant differences were observed in time, intergroup, and interaction effects on all metacognitive dimensions, fear of recurrence, fear of progression, anxiety and depression(P<0.05).Pairwise comparisons revealed that at the end of the 2nd and 4th intervention cycles, both groups showed decrease in all metacognitive dimensions, fear of recurrence, fear of progression, anxiety and depression compared to baseline levels(P<0.05);the observation group scored significantly lower than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Metacognitive therapy improves metacognitive levels, alleviates fear of cancer recurrence, eases negative emotions and enhances prognosis in esophageal cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.关键词
