Effect of Different Vegetation Restoration Modes and Mulberry Branch Biochar Addition on Stability of Aeolian Soil Aggregates

Abstract
The effects of different vegetation restoration patterns on the physicochemical properties and aggregate stability of aeolian soil were investigated,with typical aeolian soil from Zhangwu,Liaoning Province,selected as the research subject.By planting mulberry and alfalfa,as well as adding mulberry branch biochar at different mass fractions,the impacts of various planting patterns on soil physicochemical properties and aggregate size distribution were comparatively analyzed.The results revealed that when mulberry was planted alone,the addition of 1.0% mulberry branch biochar increased the proportion of water-stable aggregates larger than 0.25 mm by 14.34%,while the addition of 2.0%mulberry branch biochar elevated the mass fractions of soil organic matter,total nitrogen,and total phosphorus to 45.281,0.889 and 0.667 g·kg-1,respectively.In the case of mixed planting of mulberry and alfalfa,the addition of 1.0% mulberry branch biochar significantly increased the proportion of water-stable aggregates larger than 1.00 mm,and the addition of 2.0% mulberry branch biochar notably enhanced soil organic matter and promoted the formation of mechanically stable aggregates larger than 2.00 mm.When the mass fraction of mulberry branch biochar added was 1.0%,both sole mulberry planting and mixed mulberry-alfalfa planting significantly reduced the soil aggregate disruption rate,with a maximum reduction of 80.13%.关键词
