Abstract
Objective:To investigate the effect of minimally invasive internal fixation with headless compression screw on fracture healing and hand function recovery in patients with metacarpal fractures.Methods:Data of 152 patients with metacarpal fracture admitted to Dagang Hospital of Binhai New Area from June 2021 to June 2024 were retrospectively selected,all patients completed the 3-month postoperative follow-up before the end time of the study,and were divided into a control group and a study group according to different surgical methods,with 76 cases in each group.The control group underwent microplate internal fixation,and the study group underwent minimally invasive internal fixation with headless occurrence of compression screw.The perioperative indexes,pain degree,Jamar grip strength,total active motion(TAM),hand function recovery,the occurrence of complications and quality of life were compared between the two groups.Results:The operation time,hospitalization time and fracture healing time of the study group were shorter than those of the control group,and the intraoperative blood loss was less than that of the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).On the 7 days after surgery,the Pain Visual Analogue Scale score of the study group was lower than that of the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Before the operation,there was no statistically significant difference in Jamar grip strength and TAM between the two groups(P>0.05);three months after surgery,the Jamar grip strength and TAM of the study group were higher than those of the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The excellent and good rate of hand function recovery in the study group was 97.37%,which was higher than 88.16%in the control group,and the complication rate was 3.95%,lower than 13.16%in the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Three months after surgery,the scores of all dimensions in the the Generic Quality of Life Inventory-74 of the study group were higher than those of the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:In patients with metacarpal fracture,internal fixation with headless compression screw can further reduce pain,shorten hospitalization and fracture healing time,improve hand grip strength and TAM,accelerate function recovery,reduce complications,and thus improve quality of life.关键词
