Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the effects of Rumex hanus by.fermented diet on the growth performance,slaughter performance,meat quality,nutrient apparent digestibility,and serum biochemical indices in sheep.Twenty-four 3-month-old fattening sheep were randomly divided into three groups with eight replicates per group and 1 sheep per replicate.Group A(control group)was fed a basal fermented diet.Groups B and C were fed diets in which 5%and 10%of the soybean meal in the basal fermented diet was replaced with fermented Rumex hanus by.,respectively.The pre-test lasted for seven days and the formal test lasted for 90 days.The results showed that the final body weight,average daily gain,and average dry matter intake in Groups B and C were significantly higher than those in Group A(P<0.05),while the feed-to-gain ratio was significantly lower(P<0.05).The live weight before slaughter,carcass weight,slaughter rate,and loin eye area in Groups B and C were significantly higher than those in Group A(P<0.05).The muscle pH at 45 min,pH at 24 h,water-holding capacity,cooking loss rate,and shear force in Groups B and C were significantly lower than those in Group A(P<0.05).The apparent digestibility of dry matter,crude protein,neutral detergent fiber,and acid detergent fiber in Groups B and C were significantly higher than that in Group A(P<0.05),and the apparent digestibility of crude fat in Group B was significantly higher than that in Group A(P<0.05).Serum total protein and globulin concentrations in Groups B and C were significantly higher than those in Group A(P<0.05),while serum urea nitrogen content was significantly lower(P<0.05).Serum triglyceride content and alanine aminotransferase activity in Group B were significantly higher than those in other groups(P<0.05).The study indicates that replacing soybean meal with 5%or 10%Rumex hanus by.in the diet improves growth performance,slaughter performance,and meat quality in sheep.However,from the perspective of serum lipid metabolism and liver metabolism,a 5%substitution is more conducive to promoting protein metabolism and fat deposition.关键词
