Abstract

The study aimed to investigate the effects of fermented soybean meal on the laying performance,egg quality,apparent nutrient metabolism rate,and intestinal health of laying hens.A total of 1 000 Hy-Line Brown laying hens aged 25 weeks were randomly divided into four groups,with five replicates per group and 50 hens per replicate.The hens in each group were fed basal diets supplemented with 0,2.5%,5.0%,and 10.0%fermented soybean meal,respectively.The pre-trial period lasted for seven days,followed by a formal trial period of 56 days.The results showed that compared with the control group,the laying rate and qualified egg rate were significantly increased in the 5.0%and 10.0%fermented soybean meal groups(P<0.05),while the malformed egg rate was significantly reduced in the 5.0%fermented soybean meal group(P<0.05).The protein height and Haugh unit of eggs in the 5.0%fermented soybean meal group were significantly increased(P<0.05).The apparent metabolism rates of crude protein and crude fiber were significantly increased in the 5.0%and 10.0%fermented soybean meal groups(P<0.05),and the apparent phosphorus metabolism rate was significantly increased in the 2.5%and 5.0%fermented soybean meal groups(P<0.05).Compared with the control group,the jejunal villus height was significantly increased(P<0.05),and the crypt depth was significantly reduced(P<0.05)in the 5.0%and 10.0%fermented soybean meal groups.The villus-to-crypt ratio and villus width were significantly increased in the fermented soybean meal groups(P<0.05).The study indicates that dietary supplementation of fermented soybean meal can improve the laying performance,egg quality,and intestinal morphology of laying hens,as well as enhance the nutrient apparent metabolism rate,with the optimal inclusion level being 5.0%.
