摘要

Abstract

Due to its high isoelectric point and low toxicity,magnesium oxide has attracted much attention in the re-moval of toxic dyes from wastewater.A series of layered Mg-Al Oxides were prepared using hydrotalcite as precur-sor.The structure of adsorbents was characterized by N 2 adsorption-desorption,X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,transmission electron microscopy.Congo red adsorption experiments indicate that modified layered Mg-Al Oxides exhibited the maximum adsorption capacities up to 6 235 mg/g,respectively.It was closely related to the Mg-Al nanosheet on the surface of adsorbents.Therefore,the morphology property of adsorbents could be considered as the foremost factor influencing adsorption performance for Congo red.Also,it was found that the adsorption process fit well with pseudo-second-order equation.
