摘要

Abstract

In order to solve the problem of releasing toxic smoke and poor flame retardancy during pyrolysis or combustion of PVC,a white graphite-based flame retardant BN-GP-PMA was designed and synthesized based on Lewis acid-base theory.Namely,boron nitride(BN),known as"white graphite",was modified with guanidine phos-phate(GP)and phosphomolybdate hydrate(PMA).PVC composites were prepared by blending modification method.The structural composition of flame retardant was investigated using Fourier transform infrared spec-troscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.The thermal stability and flame retardancy of PVC composite materials were analyzed using thermogravimetric analyzer,critical oxygen index analyzer and cone calorimeter.The flame retardancy mechanism was speculated.The results showed that the limiting oxygen index(LOI)of BN-GP-PMA/PVC composite material with 6.5%of flame retardant was 28.5%,which was 14.0%higher than that of pure PVC(25%).The peak heat release rate,total heat release,and total smoke production of BN-GP-PMA/PVC composite materials decreased by 28.6%,24.1%,and 13.1%compared with those of pure PVC,re-spectively.The residual char content of BN-GP-PMA/PVC composite material under nitrogen atmosphere at 800 ℃increased by 179.7%compared with that of pure PVC.The above data indicate that the white graphite-based flame retardant BN-GP-PMA endows PVC with good flame retardancy and smoke suppression performance.
