Research progress on application of astaxanthin in poultry production
摘要
Abstract
Astaxanthin is a lipid-soluble carotenoid widely found in microalgae,yeast,and marine organisms,primarily obtained through direct extraction or biosynthesis.It exhibits multiple biological effects,including enhancing immune function,antioxidant activity,anti-inflammatory properties,and pigmentation.As a new feed additive,astaxanthin has the characteristics of safety,high efficiency and green,which can promote metabolism,improve reproductive performance,accelerate growth,enhance immunity,improve disease resistance,and improve the quality of poultry products in poultry production.Consequently,astaxanthin holds broad application prospects in poultry farming and contributes to the sustainable development of the industry.This review summarizes the biological functions of astaxanthin,its absorption and metabolic processes in animals,and recent advances in its application within poultry production,aiming to provide references for further research and utilization of astaxanthin as a feed additive.关键词
