Abstract

To explore the alleviating effect of exogenous gibberellin(GA3)on salt stress,different concentrations of GA3(0,20,40,80,and 160 mg·L-1)were applied under the salt stress simulated by sodium chloride,and we measured the morphological and physiologi-cal indexes of corn seedlings.The research results showed that exogenous GA3 increased the leaf area,plant height,root length,and number of root tips of corn seedlings under salt stress,improved the activities of peroxidase(POD)and superoxide dismutase(SOD),the contents of soluble sugars and the relativecontents of chlorophyll.However,it reduced the content of malondialdehyde(MDA).In conclusion,after spraying GA3 on seedlings,the impact of salt stress on the growth and development of seedlings is significantly weak-ened by increasing the physiological activity of seedlings,and the alleviating effect is the most obvious at a concentration of 80 mg·L-1.
