Abstract

The printed circuit heat exchanger(PCHE),as the core device of liquefied natural gas(LNG)regasification,is extensively applied in LNG engineering owing to its small volume and high efficiency.However,its heat exchange capacity directly determines the efficiency of regasification process,so it is in urgent need to study its complex flow and heat exchange behaviors.In this paper,a multi-channel coupling heat transfer model of PCHE cold and hot sides is established.The flow and heat exchange behaviors under the coupling of natural gas trans-critical flow and propane condensation phase transition are numerically simulated.In addition,the local flow and heat exchange behaviors within PCHE are analyzed based on the model infinitesimal division.The following results are obtained.First,channels on cold and hot sides have certain differences in temperature and flow rate,which are mainly presented as uneven flow velocity caused by the trans-critical physical property change of natural gas in the cold side,and different condensation volumes due to the channel location difference in the hot side.Second,the overall change patterns of heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop along one channel are basically consistent with the research results in the case of single channel.The flow and heat transfer performance is mainly affected by the flow state,while the channel layout in different areas has certain influence on the flow and heat transfer coefficient.Third,the heat transfer coefficient of cross-flow and counter-flow regions is larger than that of concurrent-flow region.In conclusion,the research results can provide theoretical and technical references for the study of trans-critical and condensing phase transition conjugate heat transfer in LNG gasifiers and the design of PCHE,and are conducive to the high-quality development of LNG engineering construction.
