Abstract

As a key energy mineral resource in China,the prospect prediction of leachable sandstone uranium deposit is of great value for the exploration,especially in the context of China's clean energy transition,and its environmental protection and cost-effectiveness development of nuclear energy.Traditional prospecting methods are facing challenge in predicting complex deposits,so a new concept of"stratigraphic sand body slope"is introduced,which is defined as the ratio of the thickness difference to the distance measuring the difference of the permeable sand body after the removing the impervious compartment of the target layer.The slope of the stratigraphic sand body reflects the dynamic change of the formation structure between the impervious barrier and the permeable layer of the target layer,and controls the migration,formation and enrichment process of uranium mineralization.The calculation method of sand body slope was introduced and its relationship to metallogenic mechanism was discussed in the case study of Ordos Basin and Songliao Basin.Thickness data of 940 boreholes in Husiliang uranium mineralization cluster,Nalinggou and Hailijin uranium deposits were collected to calculate the sand body slope.The slope of the stratigraphic sand body was found significantly correlated with uranium enrichment in the range of 1.50%to 15%.In general,the slope of the stratum sand body can be used as a prospecting index for in-situ leachable sandstone uranium deposit in optimizing the exploration strategy,improving the accuracy of prospecting,and reducing the risk of prospecting investment.Future research on stratigraphic sand body slope should combine multi-parameter analysis,improve the metallogenic prediction model to elevate the efficiency and economic effect of overall geological exploration.
