Progress on Equus Caballus Y Chromosome
摘要
Abstract
From ancient times to the present,the horse has played an important role in the development of human society,and the studies on the origin and domestication of the horse have drawn considerable academic attention.Horse Y chromosome plays an important role in the study of paternal origin and male specific traits,and it is also of great significance for improving horse breeding.However,the complicated structure of the Y chromosome forms a major obstacle to the study.With the development of omics technology,the assembly of horse Y chromosome,Y chromosome polymorphism and transcriptome analysis of male specific tissues have made great progresses.In this review,we mainly intend to summarize the research progresses on the structure,sequence assembly,and polymorphism of the Equus caballus Y chromosome,as well as the male-specific tissue transcriptome and prospect future research in this field,in order to facilitate the further studies in this field and the actions on conservation and utilization of horse genetic resources.关键词
