Analysis of Gujin Yitong Daquan-Eye and Vision Volume
摘要
Abstract
Gujin Yitong Daquan is an important medical work compiled by XU Chunfu,a medi-cal practitioner of Ming dynasty.It consists of a hundred volumes and aims to compile medical books and related medical materials from before Ming dynasty.This work not only includes biogra-phies of medical practitioners from various dynasties,the essentials of the Yellow Emperor's Inner Classic,medical theories from different schools,but also covers pulse diagnosis,Qi-transformation and the five elements,acupuncture points,acupuncture and moxibustion,clinical syndromes and treatments,demonstrating high reference value.Its volume on ophthalmology is particularly prominent,as it discusses in detail the pathogenesis,treatment methods,and related prescriptions for eye diseases,making it an important reference in ophthalmology texts of the Ming dynasty.XU Chunfu was born into a scholarly family and suffered from frequent illnesses since childhood.Later,he abandoned his studies in confucianism to pursue medicine,taking the famous physician WANG Huan as his mentor and practicing medicine in the Jiangsu and Zhejiang re-gions.The book integrates the medical thoughts of predecessors,with a particular emphasis on the theories of LI Dongyuan,emphasizing holistic syndrome differentiation.Its rich content,especially in ophthalmology,has had a certain impact on the research of later generations in Ophthalmology of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)through the classification and detailed discussion of dis-eases.Specific analyses include the compilation of 72 syndromes,discussions on pathogenesis and treatment methods,and the application of pulse diagnosis and acupuncture and moxibustion,show-casing XU Chunfu's profound expertise in the theory and practice of TCM关键词
