Advances in Zebrafish Models of Endotoxin-Induced Inflammation and Treatment with Traditional Chinese Medicine

Abstract
Inflammation is the pathological foundation for numerous diseases,rendering the exploration of novel therapeutic agents for its treatment a persistent focus in related scientific disciplines.Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)holds distinct advantages in the management of inflam-matory conditions.Nevertheless,the intricate composition of TCM compound prescriptions,encompassing diverse effective components and ac-tive ingredients,poses challenges in their comprehensive understanding.The absence of animal models for efficient and reliable in vivo high-throughput screening and mechanism research has hindered progress in this domain.Zebrafish have emerged as a valuable tool due to the im-munological similarities to humans,cost-effectiveness,ease of observation,and amenability to genetic manipulation.The zebrafish model of en-dotoxin-induced inflammation has been maturely employed for the assessment of anti-inflammatory drug activity and the exploration of underly-ing mechanisms.This paper provides a concise overview of the advances in the zebrafish model of endotoxin-induced inflammation and the re-search on treatment of inflammation with TCM.It is expected to facilitate further utilization of this model and to inform the future research on the TCM treatment of inflammation.关键词
