Abstract
To address the precise calculation of the tightening torque for spherical sealing unions,this paper first conducts calculations for the average contact stress required on the sealing surface to achieve sealing effects through the analysis of the sealing mechanism and leakage calculation model of the spherical sealing union.Furthermore,the relationship between the average contact stress,contact width of the sealing surface,and the tightening torque of the union is analyzed using finite element simulation.As the tightening torque increases,the average contact stress initially increases almost linearly and then tends to remain constant;as the tightening torque increases,the contact width also increases almost linearly.The sealing performance of the spherical sealing union is enhanced with an increase in tightening torque.It is recommended to set the tightening torque principle as follows:to meet the condition where the contact surface just begins to undergo significant plastic de-formation.关键词
