Research Progress on Structural Colour of Landscape Plants

摘要

Abstract

Colour is one of the determinants of the ornamental value of garden plants.Plant colour are mainly derived from two types of col-our:pigmented colour and structural colour.Structural colour is a kind of colour formed by diffraction or refraction of light relying on inde-pendently generated physical structures,which is less common than pigmented colour,but has more gorgeous and rarecolour than pigmented colour.By combing the reported studies,this paper clarifies the difference between pigmented colour and structural colour,reviews the struc-tural colour of garden plant tissues as well as the photonic structure of structural colour,and puts forward an outlook on the future research di-rection.It can provide a theoretical basis for cultivating more richly structural coloured garden plants in the future.
