Interpretation of the theory of"treating depression from the spleen"
摘要
Abstract
Depression is a prevalent condition that significantly impairs psychosocial functioning and di-minishes quality of life,characterized by persistent and profound depressive mood.In Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM),depression is usually treated from the liver.In recent years,managing depression through the spleen have also demonstrated remarkable efficacy.The pathogenesis of depression from the spleen perspective in TCM manifests primarily through four mechanisms:Spleen deficiency caused by the loss of spleen transportation and water and grain;The loss of spleen transportation and water caused spleen deficiency and dampness;Spleen deficiency and weakened ascending-clear function resulting in a lack of nourishment to the brain;The inability to express one's thoughts due to spleen dysfunction.The theory of"treating depression from the spleen"has experienced a long historical development process,and its theoretical system has gradually tended to be perfect.The biological basis of"treating depression from the spleen"mainly involves:"spleen deficiency source"and mitochondrial energy metabolism disor-der;Depression"spleen deficiency and dampness excess"and intestinal flora imbalance;The pathogene-sis of"spleen deficiency"in depression and the hypothesis of"inflammation-mitochondrial damage"vi-cious cycle.The clinical application of"treating depression from the spleen"can be divided into:before the onset of the disease,spleen is flourishing without pathogens.In the early stage of disease,the liver is treated and the spleen is protected.In the middle stage of the disease,the liver and spleen are treated to-gether,with the focus on the spleen.In the late stage of the disease,the five viscera are treated together.In the recovery stage,the spleen and stomach are preserved in five stages.关键词
