Automatic Extraction and Simulation Reconstruction of Tree Parameters Based on Point Cloud Data

Abstract
Aiming at the difficulty in tree parameter automatic extraction and large errors in single tree segmentation,we proposed a single tree segmentation method and a fully automatic extraction method for tree parameter estimation based on CHM contour optimization.Firstly,we obtained the forest DEM and DTM data through point cloud filtering,and obtained the forest CHM by subtracting DEM and DTM.Then,we performed sliding window analysis on CHM to extract the crown vertex set for single tree segmentation,and designed a segmentation optimization method based on density contours to address the under-segmentation problem.Finally,we designed an automatic extraction method for tree morphological structure parameters(crown volume,diameter at breast height)based on the segmentation results,and used these parameters to conduct tree simulation.Experimental results show that the proposed method makes the extracted single tree point cloud data more accurate,which is conducive to improving the accuracy of tree parameter calculation.Through street trees collected in the experimental area,we realized 1∶1 simulation of trees on both sides of road,providing an effective solution for digital twin tree simulation and forest parameter estimation in urban environment.关键词
