Abstract

Objective To explore the application effectiveness of combining the"human diagram"with Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)pattern differentiation thinking in TCM nursing teaching ward rounds.Methods A total of 70 undergraduate nursing students who interned in the cardiovascular surgery department of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from October 2022 to September 2023 were selected by convenience sampling.The students were randomly divided into two groups using a random number table:35 students in the control group received traditional clinical teaching rounds,while 35 students in the observation group received TCM pattern differentiation thinking-based"human diagram"clinical teaching rounds.The TCM clinical teaching rounds mini-CEX(TCNR-Mini-CEX)scores,core professional competencies,and teaching quality satisfaction evaluations were compared between the two groups.Results After one month,the observation group scored significantly higher than the control group in the TCNR-Mini-CEX assessment and core professional competencies(P<0.05).The observation group students also reported significantly higher satisfaction compared to those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusions The integration of the"human diagram"with TCM pattern differentiation in nursing teaching rounds effectively enhances students'differentiation thinking in TCM,enhances their TCM clinical practice skills and core professional competencies,and promotes comprehensive development of their overall qualities.Additionally,this teaching model effectively fosters greater student engagement and improves both the effectiveness and satisfaction of the teaching process.
