Abstract
Francesco Redi, through his fly-meat experiments, demonstrated that flies do not originate from decaying flesh but from a biological origin-eggs.This is a clear refutation of spontaneous generation through experimentation, considered a milestone in the history of science, and an iconic contribution in his research career. The experiment originates from the book Experiments on the Generation of Insects, which represents Redi's work on spontaneous generation.According to Experiments on the Generation of Insects,in addition to flies,Redi also pondered the origins of various small insects, including bees, scorpions, and spiders.During his experiments,Redi emphasized the role of observational experience and continually modified experimental conditions to observe changes in the experimental subjects. There are three main sources tracing the origins of his methodological approach:firstly,Redi´s medical education cultivated his habit of emphasizing observation;secondly, the emphasis on the repeatability and precision of natural science experiments at the Accademia del Cimento influenced his experimental methods;thirdly,Galileo´s empirical approach influenced Redi´s experimental design and inquiry.关键词
