不同波段双偏振雷达产品在贵港冰雹监测过程中的应用分析
Application analysis of dual-polarization radar products from different bands in the hail process in Guigang

Abstract
An analysis of the weather situation and the monitoring characteristics of two dual-polarization Doppler radars features for a hail weather process that occurred in Guigang on April 27,2024 is conducted.The results show that there was an eastward shift of the mid-to upper-level upper-air trough,a low-to mid-level south-westerly surge and a surface front in the background of the hail process.The strong instability,strong vertical wind shear,upper-dry and lower-wet atmospheric stratification,as well as the suitable 0℃ and-20℃ temperature stratification heights were all favorable for the occurrence and maintenance of hail.Both the S-band radar in Yulin and the X-band radar in Guigang showed obvious hail features in terms of strong reflectivity factor,VIL jump,mesocyclone and storm-top divergence.Parameters such as ZDR(differential reflectivity),ρHV(phase relationship number),and HCL(precipitation classification product)of the two radars all exhibited good ability to identify hail,and features such as negative ZDR values,smaller ρHV,and the identification of hail by the HCL were able to determine the formation of hail.However,there were some differences in the characteristics of the two radars.In general,the S-band had stronger index characteristics than the X-band,and theattenuation effect of large particles on the X-band affected the echo intensity and double polarization parameter,but its low-level detection ability effectively compensated for the shortcomings of the S-band radar.关键词
