Empowering social governance with digital technology is a key factor in achieving modernization of social governance.The article selects panel data from 9 provinces and regions in the Yellow River Basin from 2013 to 2023,constructs evaluation index systems for digital technology and social governance,and uses entropy method,coupling coordination model,and Moran index to measure the level of digital technology and social governance in the Yellow River Basin,analyze the coupling coordination degree of digital technology and social governance,and explore the spatial agglomeratirity of the coupling coordination degree of digital technology and social governance.The research has found that:firstly,the digital technology and social governance level in the Yellow River Basin are both on the rise,but there are regional disparities in development levels;Secondly,the coupling and coordination degree of digital technology and social governance in the Yellow River Basin has shown a steady growth trend,but it is still in the stage of barely coordinated development,and presents the characteristics of the upstream lower than the midstream lower than the downstream;Thirdly,there is a spatial agglomeration phenomenon in the coupling and coordination of digital technology and social governance in the Yellow River Basin.Countermeasures:First,increase fiscal investment,broaden financing channels,and improve digital technology infrastructure to facilitate the integration of digital technology into social governance.Second,enhance inter-regional collaboration,narrow regional disparities,and promote the coordinated development of digital technology and social governance in the Yellow River Basin.
