摘要

Abstract

To reasonably evaluate the efficiency of cooperative fire extinguishing in different fire protection systems,a numerical simulation of CO2 and water mist spray coordination in engine room fires is conducted using a large ed-dy simulation.The fire extinguishing efficiency of various cooperative methods is analyzed based on fire extinguis-hing time,heat release rate,total heat release,and cabin temperature.The results show that when CO2 and water mist sprinkler systems operate independently,the CO2 system effectively reduces the maximum heat release rate of the fire source,while the water mist system achieves faster fire extinguishing time,lower total heat release,and lower cabin temperature.When water mist is combined with 40%CO2,the fire extinguishing time is shorter,the total heat release and cabin temperature are lower,and the overall fire extinguishing efficiency is improved.The re-search findings provide valuable guidance for the design of ship fire protection systems and the development of fire extinguishing strategies for engine room fires.
