Abstract

The stability verification and reinforcement plan during the service period of a dam are the key factors in evaluating and ensuring the safe operation of the dam.Combined with engineering examples,the calculation methods and verification indicators of dam flood control capacity,stress assessment,and anti sliding stability were discussed.The superelevation of the dam crest was mainly determined by wave height,water level difference,and safety elevation.The extreme stress was mainly determined by the tensile strength of the dam material,and the anti sliding stability was mainly determined by the weight of the dam body and the shear friction coefficient.And a multi-dimensional comparative analysis was conducted on three types of dam reinforcement schemes:demolition and reconstruction of arch dams,renovation of solid gravity dams,and renovation of existing arch dams.The results showed that the renovation of arch dam reinforcement scheme had a higher comprehensive cost-effectiveness in terms of economy and construction difficulty.This construction scheme can be used as a choice for dam reinforcement similar projects.
