Flood Control Capacity of the Fushouyan Reservoir in Chongqing City

Abstract
In recent years,the frequent occurrence of extreme weather events has made the flood control situation increasingly severe.As one of the key engineering measures for flood prevention and disaster mitigation,reservoirs can effectively reduce the downstream flood pressure and mitigate the flood damage through flood storage and detention.Flood control capacity is critical to the reservoir's ability to perform its flood control function,ensuring sufficient regulation and storage capacity during flood periods to intercept floodwaters,which directly impacts the safety of downstream flood protection targets.Taking the Fushouyan Reservoir Project in Chongqing City as an example,the boundary conditions for analyzing flood control capacity and the methods of flood regulation were examined in this study,and the required flood control scales for different downstream protection targets were calculated.Comprehensively considering the various flood control requirements,the reservoir's flood control capacity was determined.The methodology can serve as a reference for determining flood control capacity in the similar regional reservoir projects.关键词
